Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotels are the world’s first truly 5-star catteries, dedicated to giving their feline guests a luxurious stay while their owners are away. Launched by Abi Purser in response to the fact that she could not find a premium cattery in her area for her own beloved pet. The first boutique cat hotel opened in Welwyn Garden City in 2010. It has been a runaway success from the start, leading to the launch of several Longcroft franchise hotels across London and the South East to meet overwhelming demand from just some of the UK’s 11 million cat owners.

Much imitated but never equalled, the success of Longcroft lies in Abi’s meticulous attention to detail. From wrought iron designer cat beds to individually decorated bedroom suites, from gourmet menus and grooming services to a choice of music, and team  members whose sole job it is to come in and entertain the feline residents each aspect of a stay at Longcroft has been crafted around each individual cat’s well-being and the owner’s peace of mind. The Hotels

1. Longcroft Welwyn Garden City

The original Longcroft Hotel, situated in the heart of Welwyn Garden City, is still owned and run by Longcroft founder, Abi Purser. Featuring six very large heated luxurious suites, each with their own wrought iron beds and exercise area, the hotel is in a pleasant garden setting on a leafy road just minutes from the train station.

Abi Purser, together with her husband Matt and three children, runs the Welwyn Hotel, which opened in 2010. Abi has worked with animals for over 15 years, and created the vision for the Longcroft brand and business when she struggled to find a premium cattery for her beloved rescue cat, Norman.

2. Longcroft St Albans

The latest Longcroft Hotel, situated in a picturesque, leafy area of St Albans, is owned and run by Gill Reynolds. Featuring 6 heated luxurious suites, each with their own wrought iron beds and exercise area, the hotel is in a lovely garden in a quiet private road backing onto the Alban Way.

Gill, 54, has been married for 36 years and has a son, daughter and three grandchildren. She cannot imagine her life without cats – she got her first as an eight year old, and two days after her wedding, she took her husband to Cats Protection League to choose two family cats! She has never been without a cat since, and currently has two cats, Jasper and Cinders.

“Cats are, and have always been, my number one passion. I first heard about Longcroft when looking for good quality accommodation for Jasper and Cinders – and as soon as I saw the Welwyn hotel I knew that I wanted to offer the same facilities in St Albans. As this is a small, boutique hotel I can offer a real personal service and get to know my guests as if they were my own. I have no other job, and so can devote all of my time to my guests’ care to ensure that they have a pleasant and enjoyable stay.”

The Suites

Each Suite is sumptuously decorated as you would expect at a 5 star hotel. Their beautiful wrought iron beds are not complete without the softest pillows, coupled with their delicious A La Cat™ menu served on bone china to cater for our guests every need. Each Suite has a separate fully heated bedroom and themed garden/play area.

Their round the clock presence ensures the safety of all their guests in particular those very young or senior. Cheerful music, is played throughout the day whilst our guests take in the scenery and watch the birds in their pretty surroundings.

They have invested in the highest quality accommodation built just for us using state of the art materials to ensure our guests are snug & warm in the winter & cool & calm in the summer. Hotel Tariff

The daily rate includes all items from our Everyday Menu, exceptional quality litter, daily entertainment and grooming.

1. Large Suites; Perfect for one guest but large enough for two, 1 x guest £16, 2 x guest £25
2. Extra Large Suites; Perfect for one or two guests to share but large enough for three, 1 x guest - £19, 2 x guest - £34, 3 x guest - £38
3. Super Sized Suites – They are able to provide a super sized suite for the cat who really needs to stretch out! These consist of two inter-connecting rooms comprising two bedrooms and two play areas large enough for five guests. £45 between 1 and 3 guests. £55 for four guests and £60 for five guests.
